This install applies to "Amplifier II" © 1991 Dimension 4.
This install requires WHDLoad and DIC to be in the path.
The programs can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+1.4 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
- Full load from HD
- OS stuff patched (AllocMem, DoIO)
- Blitter waits added (x4)
- DMA wait in replayer fixed (x6)
- Sprite problems fixed
- ButtonWait support for loader part (see below)
- Intro can be skipped with CUSTOM1
- Decruncher (PowerPacker) relocated to fast memory
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
The second Amplifier music disk has now been patched too, done while watching
"Married with Children" on TV. :)
Code is quite OK but a few problems had to be fixed. Most annyoing problem
were the sprite glitches which happened because only the first 6
sprite pointers were initialised in the demo. This has been fixed
of course! Some blitter waits had to be added as well and the replayer used
in the intro had to usual DMA wait bugs.
Speaking of the intro, it can be skipped with CUSTOM1=1.
If you want to listen to the loader tune you can use the ButtonWait
tooltype, if enabled the loader part will be shown until left mouse
button has been pressed.
Enjoy the music disk from HD and have a nice weekend everyone.
