This install applies to "Black Energy" © 1992 Hardline.
This install requires WHDLoad and DIC to be in the path.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.9 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
- Full load from HD
- OS stuff patched/emulated (DoIO, AllocMem, AllocAbs etc.)
- Self-modifying code fixed
- DMA wait in replayer fixed (x8)
- Timing fixed
- DMA settings fixed
- ButtonWait support for title picture
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is F10)
This is one of the patches I wanted to do for a long time already
and now I finally made it. It took a little while but was fun as
the code is excellent, except for the usual DMA wait bugs in the replayers,
minor timing problems and a bit of self-modifying code in the intro there
was nothing to fix! Great code by Touchstone here (greetings!). Reason
creating the patch took a few hours were the used OS functions for
allocating memory and stuff like that which I had to emulate.
I have also coded a converter for the custom binaries Touchstone used,
not needed for the patch itself but it made disassembling much easier.
Enjoy this very nice music disk from HD, good tunes by Dascon (greetings
too!) and excellent demo-like presentation!
