This install applies to "Megademo" © 1989 Manowar.
This install requires WHDLoad and RawDIC to be in the path.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.9 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
- Full load from HD (real files!)
- OS stuff emulated (AllocMem, FreeMem, Forbid, Permit etc.)
- Blitter waits added (x9)
- DMA wait in replayer fixed (x12)
- Byte write to volume register fixed (x11)
- All decrunchers (PowerPacker) relocated to fast memory and optimised
- Bplcon0 color bit fixes (x199)
- Interrupts fixed
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
This was fun to do, very good code for its day, no real major bugs had
to be fixed! Except for a lot of Bplcon0 color bit fixes in one part, some
blitter waits and the usual DMA wait and volume bugs in the replayers
there wasn't much to fix. Worth mentioning too is that in the loader part
some of the exec routines were patched/disabled, never saw that before in
any trackmo and quite liked it. Looks like the coder didn't feel like adapting
all parts to run with system disabled so he simply disabled certain exec
routines in the loader. He also didn't seem to like Magician Lord too much
(quite an understatement actually) as he dissed him quite a bit in one of
the parts. :)
Enjoy the demo from HD, 10 quite nice parts, good graphics and nice tunes
make this demo still nice to watch so many years later!
