This install applies to "John Lowe's Ultimate Darts" © 1989 Gremlin.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad and RawDIC to be in the path.
It can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed game requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.7 MB for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD (real files!)
- Protection removed (MFM)
- System-friendly RawDIC imager
- Stack frame error in Ben Daglish replayer fixed
- Timing fixed
- Load/Save supported
- ButtonWait supported for title picture
- Keyboard routine fixed
- OS routines patched (video mode detection)
- Interrupts fixed
- Supports SPS 2778 version
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
Quite playable game here which I patched when I arrived at work
this morning. The RawDIC imager was quickly done and when examining
the game code I noticed that the game uses a file table and
converted the imager to save all files.
Code is quite good for its age, the only major problem was the
stack frame error in the Ben Daglish replayer which made the game
crash on 68010+ machines. Timing in the intro wasn't correct either
on fast machines and has been fixed too.
ButtonWait is supported, if enabled the title picture will be shown
until left mouse button is pressed.
Speaking of pictures, it seems the game has been converted from the
Atari ST, at least the pictures are in Degas format.
Enjoy the game from HD and have a nice weekend everyone.
