This install applies to "Solomon's Key 2" © 2015 Hukka.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad to be in the path.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed game requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.3 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD
- OS stuff patched (file loading/saving, interrupts, replayer etc.)
- all ECS/AGA stuff in copperlists disabled
- Timing slightly fixed
- Crack intro can be skipped with CUSTOM1
- Blitter wait added
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
Now the patch for this excellent port/remake of the classic Solomon's
Key 2 is available. Hukka's code is quite clean so it wasn't much work,
special thanks to Hukka for cooperation, it was real fun to do this
patch.
Most of the patch was created in February already in a few hours. Only
thing left to do was patching the P61 replayer used in the crack intro
as it used a lot of system calls for installing the interrupts and
allocating the audio channels and I didn't feel like doing that at that
time as it's quite boring stuff to do.
Fast forward to Easter 2015, I attended the Revision demo party, got a
request for a demo patch by Frequent/Ephidrena and guess what, the demo
also used a system-friendly P6x player so I created a binary of the
hardware banging P61 player [while drinking beer sponsored by Frequent :)]
and completely replaced it. Only problem:
the demo used the P60 player instead of the P61 one which I only noticed
once I replaced the replayer in the demo and wondered why I didn't hear
anything at all. Blame it on the beer and the general awesome party
atmosphere. :)
However, it wasn't wasted time at all as once I was back home from Revision
I remembered the Solomon's Key 2 patch, replaced the replayer with the one
I built at Revision, fixed a few minor things and finally finished the patch.
Load/Save is fully supported and if you want to skip the crack intro you can
use the CUSTOM1 tooltype. No trainers this time as any trainer would totally
spoil the game!
It's a very addictive and nice game, very well done and highly recommended!
Enjoy it from HD.
