This install applies to "Cracker Journal #4" 1988 Alpha Flight.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad to be in the path.
It can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed diskmag requires 0.5 MB ChipMem
(+0.9 MB OtherMem for preload and Kickstart ROM)
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
The mag requires an installed A500 Kickstart 1.3 image.
The kickstart image must be located in the directory "Devs:Kickstarts" and
must be named "kick34005.A500". The image can be extracted from a A500 with
tools like 'GrabKick' or similar which can be found on aminet.
If the image is of wrong version or altered in any way WHDLoad will quit with
an appropriate message.
Additionally the file "kick34005.A500.RTB" must be installed in the same
directory as the kickstart image. It can be found in the archive
"util/boot/skick346.lha" on aminet.

- Interrupt problem in intro fixed
- Self-modifying code fixed
- DMA wait in replayer fixed (x2)
- Byte write to volume register in replayer fixed (x2)
- Intro can be skipped with CUSTOM1
- Wrong data fetch stop fixed (intro)

Here's the patch for Cracker Journal 4 which I made this morning
while enjoying my first coffee. I first patched the mag and then
I started to fix the intro and noticed that it uses a lot of
system stuff (diskfont, graphics etc.) so I had to patch the mag
again, this time using KickEmul, as I really couldn't be bothered
to patch all the system stuff in the intro. The intro had a wrong
ddfstrt value which caused a trashed display on anything else than
OCS machines. If you want to skip the intro you can use the CUSTOM1
tooltype.
Not much more to say, I'm going to ride the MK1 now as the
weather is excellent here so the better half and me will spend
the whole day outside in the sun. :) Have a nice weekend everyone!
If you don't know how to control the mag try these keys:
left/right Amiga: previous/next article
left/right Alt: last/next 3 pages
ctrl/F10 : quit

Update 16-Sep-2014
------------------
Wepl reported that it was impossible to quit the intro, this was caused
by the vertical blank interrupt code needing more than one frame on
some machines, I guess this bug only occured on A4000's due to the slow
chip ram access. Anyway, I have fixed this by changing the intro code
to run completely without a vertical blank interrupt.
