There is then nothing I can do except quit WHDLoad. No save file is being created/modified. Trying to load a saved game has the same result (whether or not a saved game file is actually present), ie. map flashes up, goes to black screen, have to quit WHDLoad. | ||||||||||||

You need to let WHDLoad do its OS swaps, when saving for the first time, it takes a while, when saving (using the same name) again, it'll be faster. I have updated the patch anyway as there was a manual check which appears when loading a saved game, which was not removed in the old patch. |
