This install applies to "Sound of Music 7" © 1990 Cave.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad and DIC to be in the path.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.9 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD
- Self-modifying code fixed
- OS stuff patched/emulated (Text(), DoIO() etc.)
- Interrupt fixed
- Access fault fixed
- DMA wait in replayer fixed (x2)
- Byte write to volume register fixed
- Interrupt settings fixed
- Button Wait support for loading picture
- Bplcon0 color bit fixes (x4)
- Decruncher (The Ultimate Cruncher) relocated to fast memory
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is F10)
Nice heavy tunes here which are still enjoyable almost 3 decades later.
Code is nice and clean but a few problems had to be fixed, interrupts
were disabled for example and coder was lucky that the DoIO call to
load data enabled the VBI for him so he probably never realised his
INTENA settings were wrong. The menu text is written using graphics.library
functions [Move(), Text()] which means I had to recode the text writing
routine, it wasn't much of a problem though.
The decruncher, which is yet another ByteKiller variant, has been relocated
and optimised.
If ButtonWait is enabled the loading picture will be shown until the right
mouse button has been pressed.
Enjoy the music disk from HD.
