This install applies to "Vector Dance 2" © 1991 Cult.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad and DIC to be in the path.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.9 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD
- Access fault fixed (buggy "clear memory" routine)
- Blitter waits added (x503, 68010+ only)
- Wrong copper wait fixed
- Decruncher (modified ByteKiller) relocated to fast memory and optimised
- Interrupts fixed
- Bplcon0 color bit fixes (x6)
- Reset at end of demo patched to quit back to DOS
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
Patched this demo just for fun, it features quite good code but has the same
problem a lot of the Cult demos have: it's rather boring. For some reason I
always kept my copy of this demo though, even though it is somehwat boring it
is still not bad!
Patching it wasn't much work, I had to add a lot of blitter waits as there were
none used in the innerloops of the plasma part and the sine scroller parts.
The blitter wait patches are only installed on 68010+ machines. There also
was an access fault, this was caused by a broken and buggy clear memory routine.
Other than that there wasn't much to fix which is worth mentioning for a demo
released in 1991.
Enjoy it from HD.
