This install applies to "Music Disk" © 1990 The Fantasy Force.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad and RawDIC to be in the path.
These programs can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.7 MB for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD (real files!)
- Action Replay protection disabled
- Exec checksum patching disabled
- Decrunchers (Defjam 3.2) relocated to fast memory
- DMA wait in replayer fixed (x2)
- Byte write to volume register in replayer fixed
- Keyboard routine replaced with level 2 interrupt
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
This patch is for the first music disk by The Fantasy Force which
I still like quite a bit. The tunes need a little while to get
used to but they are not bad, definitely not your standard tunes
you would expect in a music disk from 1990. Presentation is very
nice, especially the analyzer looks very good. The code by
Flame is very nice, very clean and nice routines which made patching
the demo an enjoyable task! 3 years later he coded the very nice
demo "Extension" which also featured some really nice code.
The code had an Action Replay protection which I have disabled.
It was used to protect the tunes from ripping. The code and all
tunes were crunched with Defjam 3.2 cruncher, I have relocated
all decrunchers to fast memory for better speed. The replayer
had the usual DMA and volume bugs which have been fixed too
of course. Other than that not much had to be fixed.
Have a nice weekend everyone and enjoy the demo from HD.
