This install applies to "Megademo" © 1988 Vortex 42.
This install requires WHDLoad and RawDIC to be in the path.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.9 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
- Full load from HD (real files!)
- OS stuff emulated (SendIO, Forbid, Permit etc.)
- Blitter waits added (x9)
- DMA wait in replayer fixed (x6)
- Byte write to volume register fixed
- Interrupt and DMA settings fixed
- CPU dependent delays fixed (x6)
- ButtonWait support for loader part added
- Interrupt fixed/recoded
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
Old and nice classic here which is still enjoyable to watch almost 3
decades later. Nice parts for its time and good tunes.
Code is pretty good, there wasn't that much to fix. For a 1988 demo this
is really good!
I have added ButtonWait support for the loader part, use it if you want
to listen to the loader tune. If enabled the parts won't start until either
mouse button has been pressed.
All files in the "data" directory can be packed with any of the crunchers
supported by WHDLoad (FImp, ProPack etc.). Since all parts are unpacked
you can save a lot of space by compressing the files, the whole demo needs
only about 300k then.
Ennjoy this classic from HD.
