This install applies to "Cracker Journal #14" 1989 Alpha Flight.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad to be in the path.
It can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed diskmag requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.8 MB OtherMem for preload)
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD
- All OS stuff patched (AllocMem, Gfx&DOS library stuff etc.)
- Interrupt and DMA settings fixed
- Interrupts fixed
- Self-modifying code fixed
- ColdCapture patching disabled
- Decruncher ((ByterKiller) relocated to fast memory and error check added
- DMA wait in replayer fixed
- Bplcon0 color bit fix
- Timing fixed
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
Here's the patch for Cracker Journal 14, made it about 2 weeks ago
but didn't feel like creating the install package. Until now. :)
The code has been updated, now the keys used for changing the pages
are much more intuitive! The code als was encrypted for whatever
reason and the articles are now crunched with ByteKiller, they are
still in iff-format though... I have relocated the decruncher and added
an error check, if any article can't be decrunched (bad/corrupted data)
WHDLoad will quit with an appropriate error message.
This issue features Banana's great "mod.echoing" tune which is a timeless
classic! So enjoy yet another Cracker Journal issue from HD. I recommend
to turn off the page fading (toggle with "Enter" on the numeric pad)
as it is kinda annoying in my opinion.
