This install applies to "Darkroom" © 1994 Stellar.
This install requires WHDLoad to be in the path.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed intro requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.1 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
- Full load from HD
- OS stuff patched
- DMA and interrupt settings fixed
- Bplcon0 color bit fixes (x7)
- Interrupts fixed
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
Couldn't help it and quickly created the patch for one of my
favorite 40k intros ever after seeing the request for one in the
"Problems to get Darkroom to run" thread on EAB.
Well, not much to say here, this intro was WAY ahead of its time and
now, 21 years later, it still is very enjoyable to watch. Nice and
unusual effects as usual from Dweezil and excellent tune by Strobo.
Probably the best OCS 40k intro ever!
The code is quite nice, it even took care of non-native screens and if
it wasn't for the direct $6c.w resp. $78.w banging to set the
interrupts and the missing color bits in the copperlists the intro would
run without any problems on "modern" Amigas.
These problems have been fixed now so enjoy this classic intro!
