This install applies to "QED 2" © 1994 Talent.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad and DIC to be in the path.
These programs can be found in the WHDLoad package.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed demo requires 2.0 MB ChipMem (+1.8 MB for preload)
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD
- DMA wait in replayer fixed (x12)
- All OS stuff removed/recoded
- Custom1 can be used to skip the intro
- Bplcon0 color bit fixes (x29)
- Source code included as usual
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Quit option that works with VBR at $0 (default key is 'F10')
Here's the patch for Talent's "QED 2" demo which was released
at the Gathering 1994 and ranked 4th. Not a bad demo but I always
preferred its predecessor.
I actually started a patch for this demo years ago but for some
reason didn't finish it. Some days ago there was a request for
a patch for this demo and so I just restarted it from scratch
as I couldn't find my old code anymore.
Stripe's code is, as usual, quite clean so I didn't have to fix
much. In the intro and outro part the system was used to install
the level 3 interrupt (AddIntServer) so I had to recode that
using the hardware. See the readme for my patch for Talent's
"The Complete" music disk that I released a few days ago for
my opinion about demos using the OS.
If you want to skip the intro part ("State of the Art torture")
you can use Custom1=1.
You can download the demo here:
ftp://ftp.amigascne.org/pub/amiga/Groups/T/Talent/TALENT-qed2-A.DMS
ftp://ftp.amigascne.org/pub/amiga/Groups/T/Talent/TALENT-qed2-B.DMS
That about wraps it up, looks like summer is finally over, days
are getting shorter which means there might be a lot of new patches
soon. Enjoy the demo from HD now.
