This install applies to "Archipelagos" © 1989 Astral Software.
Requirements:
-------------
This install requires WHDLoad and RawDIC to be in the path.
To install from a different drive than DF0: select installation mode Expert.
The installed game requires 0.5 MB ChipMem (+0.3 MB OtherMem for preload).
It can be quit by pressing F10 (key can be changed with Tooltype "QuitKey=").
Features:
---------
- Full load from HD (real files!)
- Protection removed (manual check, protection track check)
- 2 versions supported
- DMA wait in replayer fixed
- CPU dependent delay in text writer fixed
- Keyboard routine rewritten
- "Fanfare" intro can be quit with left mouse button (US version)
- Manual included
- NewIcon (created by me)
- Source code included as usual
- Quit option that works on 68000 machines (default key is 'F10')
The patch for this classic and quite excellent game has been reworked
by yours truly. It now supports both known versions of the game (SPS 627 and
SPS 628). I have also completely disabled the manual protection so you won't
have to type anything at all and can just start the game! Some minor bugs
have been fixed too (CPU dependent delays in the text writer and replayer
for example) and I have also included the manual as well.
The "Fanfare" intro screen which appears in the US version (SPS 628) only can
be quit with left mouse button as I found it quite annoying that there was
no way to exit it in the original game.
Have a nice festive season and enjoy the game from HD.
